A virtually blind homeless man holds fast to routine and memories to fill the hours on LA’s streets, as his humor and kindness work their magic on a single mother employed in a soup kitchen, who finally instigates an intervention that will resurrect his life. The screenplay was commissioned by Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, an international humanitarian charity organization. The story of Ernesto, inspired by one of Tzu Chi’s actual aid recipients, reveals the potentially life-changing impact of some of their medical care programs.
